Full Bill

WHEREAS, The Office of Emergency Management in collaboration with the numerous City departments developed The City of Philadelphia's 2015 Emergency Operations Plan ("Plan"); and

WHEREAS, The Plan meets all of the specific requirements outlined in the Federal Emergency Management Agency Comprehensive Preparedness Guide 101; and

WHEREAS, The Plan meets all of the specific requirements outlined in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Health and Safety Act (35 Pa. C.S.), Chapter 75 (Local Organizations and Services), Subchapter A (General Provisions) § 7503. Powers and duties of political subdivisions, (1) Prepare, maintain and keep current a disaster emergency management plan for the prevention and minimization of injury and damage caused by disaster, prompt and effective response to disaster and disaster emergency relief and recovery in consonance with the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Plan; and

WHEREAS, 35 Pa. C.S., as amended, requires each county and municipality to prepare, maintain and keep current an emergency operations plan (EOP); now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, that the 2015 Emergency Operations Plan, attached hereto as Exhibit "A", is hereby adopted.
