THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS:

SECTION 1. Title 19 of The Philadelphia Code is hereby amended to read as follows:

TITLE 19. FINANCE, TAXES AND COLLECTIONS.

CHAPTER 19-1300. REAL ESTATE TAXES.

§19-1303. Discounts and Additions to Tax.

Unless otherwise provided by special ordinance:

(1) Upon all real estate taxes paid up to and including the last day of February of the year in which such taxes shall be assessed and payable, or within twenty (20) days of the date of mailing of the tax bill, a discount of [one percent (1%)] one-half percent (1/2 %) shall be allowed.

SECTION 2. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall take effect 30 days after it becomes law.
