THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS:
Exhibit A
Concession Agreement
for the Design, Construction, Management and Operation of an Aerial Adventure Park in West Fairmount Park
1. Concessionaire: Treetop Quest, Inc., of Norcross, Georgia, or its wholly-owned subsidiary.
2. Term: 10 years, with City option to renew for two additional five-year periods.
3. Location: West Fairmount Park at the intersection of Chamounix Drive and Ford Road.
4. Concessionaire's obligations:
A. Build and operate an aerial adventure park as a high quality, family-friendly recreational amenity.
B. $500,000 capital investment for improvements, plus $20,000 for additional site improvements.
C. Additional funds for site maintenance.
D. Restoration of the forest and invasive plant removal.
E. Create and maintain new public trails with environmental educational signage.
5. Special programs and offerings:
A. One thousand free vouchers annually for Philadelphia youths, distributed through Parks and Recreation's summer camp program.
B. Concessionaire's staff will participate in two West Fairmount Park volunteer days, organized by Parks and Recreation.
C. Focus on hiring from local community (approximately 25 positions per year).
6. Concession Fee payments:
A. Annual guaranteed amount of $20,000, plus
B. Four percent of Concessionaire's annual gross revenues from recreational activities.
7. City's financial obligations: None.
