THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS:

§ 20-310. In Vitro Fertilization and Related Procedures.

(1)

Every health insurance plan offered by the City to officers and employees of the City shall include coverage for oocyte cryopreservation (egg freezing), in vitro fertilization and related medically-approved procedures for establishing pregnancy. The coverage required under this Section shall be provided in each plan on terms consistent with the overall scheme of such plan, and consistent with sound administration of health benefits. The City shall commence providing the coverage required under this Section no later than January 1, 2018.
