Full Bill

WHEREAS, The Commonwealth’s enactment of Act No. 42 of 2017, on October 30, 2017, authorized ten new Category 4 licensed facilities in the Commonwealth, each of which may operate up to 750 slot machines and up to 40 table games; and

WHEREAS, All cities, boroughs, townships and incorporated towns in the Commonwealth have been vested with the option to prohibit the location of a Category 4 licensed facility within their boundaries by delivering a resolution of the municipality’s governing body to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board pursuant to 4 Pa. C.S. § 1305.1(a.1) prior to December 31, 2017; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, Pursuant to 4 Pa. C.S. § 1305.1(a.1) the Council of the City of Philadelphia hereby exercises the host county option afforded thereunder to prohibit the location of a Category 4 licensed facility within the boundaries of the City of Philadelphia.

FURTHER RESOLVED, That this Resolution be delivered to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board no later than December 29, 2017, as required under § 1305.1(a.1).
