Recognizing, honoring and congratulating the 2017 City & State PA 40 Under 40 Rising Stars for their hard work and dedication to excellence in their representation of their respective industries.

WHEREAS, City & State PA published its second annual 40 Under 40 Rising Stars to award 40 influential Pennsylvanians who have done big things before the age of 40; and

WHEREAS, At no time in the recent history of our City and State has the younger generations seemed so excited and committed to building a better region; and

WHEREAS, This is what makes the 40 Under 40 Rising Stars one of City & State PA’s new favorite traditions; and

WHEREAS, This year, City & State PA received triple the number of nominations as last year for only 40 spots, thus this year’s honorees represent a truly exceptional class of Pennsylvanians in government, business, culture and social services; and

WHEREAS, Greg Salisbury, Editor of City & State PA, noted that the 40 Under 40 Rising Stars Class of 2017 “present a glimpse of both the diversity we see in Pennsylvania politics and the need for the Commonwealth’s future to become more inclusive”; and

WHEREAS, This year’s group spans the realms of the political and policy-oriented including lobbyists, elected officials and legislative staff; and

WHEREAS, The City of Philadelphia honors and congratulates this year’s honorees and admires the hard work and dedication of these rising stars in the vital areas that they represent; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, THAT THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, Hereby recognizes, honors and congratulates the 2017 City & State PA 40 Under 40 Rising Stars for their hard work and dedication to excellence in their representation of their respective industries.
