Full Bill

WHEREAS, Aimee Turner is currently a senior in the Pennoni Honors College at Drexel University, working toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Science with a minor in Legal Studies; and

WHEREAS, Aimee has always excelled in school, winning numerous awards at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair; and

WHEREAS, Aimee has not only been honored for her academics, but has also been acknowledged for her athleticism and teamwork. She was selected as MVP of the 2016 Collegiate International Lacrosse Tournament; and

WHEREAS, Aimee is a very accomplished young woman with a bright future ahead of her. She is currently an Agile Savvy Business Analyst, and plans to pursue a career in data analytics in addition to earning an MBA after graduation; and

WHEREAS, On February 24, 2018, Aimee made Overbrook and all of Philadelphia proud when she was crowned Miss Philadelphia 2018. Aimee consistently shined throughout the competition, performing an impressive aerial acrobatics routine; and

WHEREAS, Along with the crown and the title, Aimee received a $4,000 scholarship from the Miss Philadelphia Competition; and

WHEREAS, As part of her role as Miss Philadelphia, Aimee will be embark on a citywide speaking tour, advocating for her platform promoting STEM Programs. In addition, Aimee will have the honor of representing the Philadelphia Area at the Miss Pennsylvania Pageant in June; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That it hereby recognizes and honors Drexel University senior and Overbrook resident Aimee Turner for being crowned Miss Philadelphia 2018.

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be present to Aimee Turner as further evidence of the sincere admiration and gratitude of this legislative body.
