Full Bill

WHEREAS, The purpose of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts’ (PCA) Creative Communities Pilot Initiative is to provide multi-year funding to community-driven, arts-based development projects that serve as catalysts for livability, economic development, and community connectedness; and

WHEREAS, By leveraging the immense potential of Pennsylvania’s arts and cultural sector, the PCA supports jobs, builds community, motivates learning, promotes the commonwealth nationally and internationally, and sparks innovation; and

WHEREAS, The Southeast Asian Mutual Assistance Associations Coalition (SEAMAAC), as lead applicant, has successfully completed the application process and been selected as one of four Creative Communities Pilot Initiative communities, receiving $25,000 per year for up to four years; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That it hereby supports the important work of the SEAMAAC and the organization’s participation in the Creative Communities Pilot Initiative.
