Amending Section 12-701 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Bicycle Lanes," by authorizing the Department of Streets to designate a bicycle lane, in the southbound direction, on North 8th Street, from Vine Street to Race Street, and to remove a travel lane, in the southbound direction, on North 8th Street, from Vine Street to Race Street, all under certain terms and conditions.

Full Bill

THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS:

SECTION 1. Section 12-701 of The Philadelphia Code is hereby amended to read as follows:

§ 12-701. Designation of Bicycle Lanes.

(1) A bicycle lane that requires removal of a parking lane, a travel lane, or both, may be designated upon a street only when authorized by subsection (2) of this Section.

(2) The Department is authorized to designate a bicycle lane upon the following streets and regulate the operation and use of vehicles and bicycles upon such streets in a manner consistent with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) regulations:

SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be effective immediately.
