Full Bill
WHEREAS, The Roman Catholic High School Mock Trial team is led by 4 sets of Coaches, including Steve Patton
& John Pensabene, John Prendergast & Patrick Prendergast, Vince Capitolo & George Zindel, and Andrew DiCicco, Kyle Westerfer, & Nicholas Guth
; and
WHEREAS, The team ended their season with a 40-4 record, qualifying as state finalists, and participated in the 2020 Empire Mock trial world competition; and
WHEREAS, The Roman Catholic High School Cahilites finished their conference league with a nearly undefeated season winning several tournaments, including the University of Pennsylvania’s Invitational Tournament, where Varsity A won First place, Varsity B in 3rd place, and Varsity D in 6th place. Varsity A’s team had a very successful preseason record of 24-0; and
WHEREAS, The 2020 Coaches’ Awards were given to Anthony Kafel and Daniel Thompson, as well as the Most Valuable Advocate Award, which was given to Aidan Cotton. Daniel Thompson and Anthony Kafel were both awarded the Coaches Award as they both demonstrated teamwork, dedication, and leadership within the team. Aidan Cotton was awarded the Most Valuable Advocate for his skills in leading and encouraging the team in collaboration, discipline, and friendly competition; and
WHEREAS, The Roman Catholic High school’s mission statement is to, “provide a community where each young man can learn to appreciate and respect the uniqueness of others while becoming a man of personal integrity”; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we hereby congratulate and honor the Roman Catholic High School Cahilites Mock Trial team on their 2019-2020
season and the City Title in Philadelphia.
