Full Bill

WHEREAS, The Prep football team is led by Assistant Athletic director and head football coach, Timothy Roken; and

WHEREAS, The team has ranked 1st in the state, Pennsylvania AAAAAA, and Philadelphia as well as ranked 3rd nationally; and

WHEREAS, The St. Joseph's Prep Hawk’s finished their conference league with a 3-0 record, and an undefeated season overall with a 6-0 record. The team’s victorious season allowed for the Hawks to become the first three-time PIAA State Title Champions since 1999; and

WHEREAS, The teams winning record is not uncommon for the Hawks, as, in the past 7 years, St. Joseph's Prep has been 6-1 in state title champs, the only loss in 2017; and

WHEREAS, Senior Kyle McCord, the Ohio State-bound quarterback with 21-of-28 completed passes for 337 yards and 4 touchdowns guided St. Joe's Prep and McCord’s success was dependant upon teamwork with Senior Sahmir Hagans, Marvin Harrison Jr., and Malik Cooper, all responsible for leading the team’s stats; and

WHEREAS, The St. Joseph’s Prep mission is, “as a Catholic, Jesuit, urban, college preparatory school is to develop the minds, hearts, souls, and characters of young men in their pursuit of becoming men for and with others” and has demonstrated this with excellence in both athletics and academics; and

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we hereby congratulate and honor the St. Joseph’s Preparatory School Football Team on their 2020
