Amending Section 12-701 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Designation of Bicycle Lanes," to authorize bicycle lanes on Race Street from North 5th Street to North 4th Street; and making associated changes to parking regulations within the same limits; all under certain terms and conditions.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. Section 12-701 of The Philadelphia Code is amended to read as follows:
§ 12-701. Designation of Bicycle Lanes.

(2) The Department is authorized to designate a bicycle lane upon the following streets and regulate the operation and use of vehicles and bicycles upon such streets in a manner consistent with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) regulations:

(*) Race Street, from North 5th Street to North 4th Street: One bicycle lane, and the removal of a parking lane within the same limits.
SECTION 2. The following parking regulations are hereby established:
Race Street, north side, from North 5th Street to North 4th Street
NO STOPPING ANYTIME TOW AWAY ZONE
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect as follows:
(a) Section 1: Immediately.
(b) Section 2: Upon replacement of parking signage consistent with this Ordinance.
