Full Bill

WHEREAS, The Imhotep Panthers Girls basketball team is led by head coach David Hargrove; and

WHEREAS, Girls’ basketball players Troi Ebo, Ky’janae Cooper, Janiha Bennett, Janai Smith, Ayasha Thomas, Suha Stallings, Jaden Courtney, Ammayah Garrett-Bradley, Cydney Bundy, Farrah Harris, Taniyah Finney, Seanlajah Smith, Rhaniyah Price, Mikala Carter, Shynia Sloan, Samya Stevens, and Moneshia Harvey exhibited excellence and perseverance through an unusual season to defeat opponents and become the Philadelphia Public League Champions; and

WHEREAS, The girls Panthers team secured the Champion title by defeating opponents Mastery North on March 26, 2021, with a final score of 50-46 points; and

WHEREAS, The 2021 championship marks the girls’ Panthers fifth Philadelphia Public League Championship title since 2014; and

WHEREAS, This is the fourth year in which both Imhotep Panthers boys and girls teams have won their respective Championship titles, making it one of only two schools to have ever done so; and

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we hereby congratulate and honor the Imhotep Charter Girls basketball team for winning the Philadelphia Public League Championship title games for the 2020-2021 season.

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy be presented to the Imhotep Charter Girls basketball team, further evidencing the sincere admiration and respect of this legislative body.
