Full Bill

WHEREAS, The City Council of Philadelphia takes great pleasure in recognizing those who, through dedication and excellence, contribute in a meaningful way to the wellbeing of their communities and throughout the City of Philadelphia; and

WHEREAS, The Philadelphia Parks and Recreation connects the City’s residents to the natural world, to each other, and to fun physical and social opportunities. They manage historically significant Philadelphia events and special venues, and work with communities and organizations, leading capital projects and introducing creative programming

; and

WHEREAS, Frances Piller is a longtime Philadelphia resident; and

WHEREAS, Having served the Philadelphia Parks and Recreation for over thirty years, Ms. Piller is retiring on October 17, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Throughout her tenure, Ms. Piller has undertaken a plethora of responsibilities in the Philadelphia Parks and Recreation. She has been a grounds custodian, greenhouse crew chief, landscape project technician, park projects technician, park district manager, she has overseen the Street Tree Management division, and much more; and

WHEREAS, In all that Ms. Piller has done while working for the Philadelphia Parks and Recreation, she has contributed greatly to our community and the City of Philadelphia. Dedicated members of the community, like Ms. Piller, are integral to the functioning and wholesomeness of our City. As such, her service is much appreciated; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, THAT THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, Extends its sincere gratitude to Frances Piller for her extraordinary service to our City. We wish her success in the days ahead.

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to Frances Piller as evidence of the City Council of Philadelphia’s sincere appreciation and admiration for her service.
