Full Bill

WHEREAS, The House Democratic Caucus is comprised of all Democratic Representatives within the United States House of Representatives; and

WHEREAS, The House Democratic Caucus is responsible for nominating and electing Democratic Party leaderships and for the development of party policy and legislative priorities.

The House Democratic Caucus is currently led by Caucus Chairman Hakeem Jeffries and Vice Chairman Pete Aguilar; and

WHEREAS, Each year, the House Democratic Caucus holds an “Issues Conference.” The purpose of the annual conference is to provide an opportunity for Democrats to reflect on the party’s accomplishments thus far and to provide a space where lawmakers can have a very robust conversation with activists, academics and community leaders concerning issues facing our nation; and

WHEREAS, This year’s House Democratic Caucus Issues Conference will be held in Philadelphia from March 9th to March 11th. The theme of the 2022 House Democratic Caucus Issues Conference is “100 Days In: Fighting For The People” and will focus on the progress of the “For The People” agenda; and

WHEREAS, President Joseph R. Biden will attend the retreat, which will provide ample opportunities for engagement with Democratic Party members from wide-ranging ideologies to discuss ways to unify; and

WHEREAS, The City of Philadelphia, home to the founding of our Nation and the laws that guide it, welcomes the opportunity to be the venue for a conference focused on better outcomes for our nation

now, therefore be it,

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That it hereby welcomes President Joseph R. Biden and the House Democratic Caucus to Philadelphia on March 9, 2022 to March 11, 2022 for the annual House Democratic Caucus Issues Conference.
