Honoring and congratulating Champion of the Week, Derrick Copes, on the success of his business, Best Hands Mobile Detailing, and for his constant efforts to make the detailing business more accessible through his social media outreach efforts.

WHEREAS, Best Hands Mobile Detailing is a full detailing service operating in the Philadelphia region owned and operated by Derrick Copes; and,

WHEREAS, Copes has been in the automotive detailing business for over 20 years; and,

WHEREAS, Copes is a former convict in prison for dealing drugs, but has since used his detailing business as a way to reenter the workforce as a productive and healthy community member; and,

WHEREAS, Copes is in his line of work because, after his release, people gave him a chance, and now he wants to spread that chance and opportunity to ex-convicts as well; and,

WHEREAS, Copes is the founder of The Dopest Detailer, a brand and community of detailers; and,

WHEREAS, Through The Dopest Detailer social media brand, Copes educates Philadelphians on how to start their own detailing businesses, with advice ranging from the business model to technique to the best detergents; and,

WHEREAS, Copes has detailed the cars of some of the regions’ most influential athletes, such as James Harden, Tyrese Maxy, and Fletcher Cox, and more. Copes got their business through word of mouth, showing the power behind a small, local business; and,

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we hereby congratulate and honor the Champion of the Week, Derrick Copes, on the success of his business, Best Hands Mobile Detailing, and for his constant efforts to expand the detailing business through his professional development education services.

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an engrossed copy be presented to Derrick Copes, further evidencing the sincere admiration and respect of this legislative body.
