Authorizing the Commissioner of Public Property, on behalf of the City of Philadelphia, to acquire fee simple title or a lesser real estate interest to all or a portion of a parcel of land located in and about the area bounded by Castor Avenue, Richmond Street, Lewis Street, and North Delaware Avenue; all under certain terms and conditions.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. The Commissioner of Public Property, on behalf of the City, is hereby authorized to acquire fee simple title or a lesser real estate interest, by purchase, condemnation, deed in lieu, donation, dedication, or otherwise to all or a portion of a parcel of land located in and about the area bounded by Castor Avenue, Richmond Street, Lewis Street, and North Delaware Avenue, for an amount not to exceed Seven Million One Hundred and Forty-Three Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($7,143,500.00) determined pursuant to an appraisal prepared for the Department of Public Property.
SECTION 2. The Commissioner of Public Property is hereby authorized to execute all other documents necessary or appropriate for the purpose of accepting fee simple title or a lesser real estate interest to all or a portion of the above described parcel. This includes the authority to further transfer property interests to or from the City to adjust the border lines of the parcel, including deeds, easement agreements and any other agreements and documents necessary or desirable for this purpose.
SECTION 3. The City Solicitor is authorized to review and approve all instruments and documents necessary to effectuate the acquisition authorized by this Ordinance. Those instruments and documents shall contain such terms and conditions as the City Solicitor shall deem necessary and proper to protect the interests of the City and to carry out the purposes of this Ordinance.
