Full Bill

WHEREAS, the Pennsylvania Intergovernmental Cooperation Authority Act was revised and updated by the General Assembly by Act No. 36 of 2022 (as revised and updated, the “Act”); and

WHEREAS, the Act provides for continuing oversight of and assistance to the City by the Pennsylvania Intergovernmental Cooperation Authority (the “Authority”); and

WHEREAS, the Act calls for the City and the Authority to enter into an Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement, setting out the respective rights and responsibilities of the parties; and

WHEREAS, the Act requires that any such Agreement is subject to approval by this Council; now, therefore,

THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS

:

SECTION 1. The Mayor, or such other officer of the City as the Mayor shall designate, is hereby authorized to enter into, on behalf of the City, an Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement with the Pennsylvania Intergovernmental Cooperation Authority substantially in the form as set forth in Exhibit “A” hereto.
