Full Bill

WHEREAS, Chill Moody is a Philadelphia-based rapper, having grown up in West Philadelphia on Allison Street off of Landsdowne Avenue. He graduated from Overbrook High School and Millersville University with a degree in speech communications and public relations; and

WHEREAS, Chill Moody has been a long-time figure in the Philadelphia music and business communities respectively, active in both for well over a decade. He has released many albums, mixtapes, and countless singles; He has launched many business ventures and partnerships; and

WHEREAS, Chill Moody has taken the city’s burdens and battles on his back, and composes music about the issues and stories that make up the City of Philadelphia; and

WHEREAS, Arts and Culture are a crucial part of the city’s economic output. Music venues, murals, and history define the city, and Chill Moody contributes to this by promoting the arts, music and culture economy; and

WHEREAS, Not just an artist, Chill Moody is an entrepreneur with his own record label, has his own beverage company and consulting firm, under the “nicethings” moniker; and

WHEREAS, As Community Artist in Residence at the Mann Center for Performing Arts, Chill

Moody organizes and hosts free performances and community/ youth oriented events; now, therefor, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we hereby honor

and congratulate West Philadelphia born Hip Hop Artist and entrepreneur Chill Moody for being the first Community Artist in Residence at the Mann Center for the Performing Arts

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an engrossed copy be presented to Chill Moody further evidencing the sincere admiration and respect of this legislative body.
