Honoring and Recognizing the City Avenue Special Services District on the occasion of their 25th Anniversary.

WHEREAS, the City Avenue Special Services District has served as a vital hub for commerce, education, and community for the past twenty-five years; and

WHEREAS, Established in 1999 through a visionary partnership between the City of Philadelphia and Lower Merion Township, the City Avenue Special District has fostered a unique environment that caters to businesses, residents, and commuters alike; and

WHEREAS, Today's City Avenue District resembles a thriving mini metropolis, attracting new residents, a profusion of shopping options, increased pedestrian and cyclist activity, and a flourishing restaurant scene, extending beyond the main thoroughfare and encompassing all six of the district's neighborhoods; and

WHEREAS, The District's strategic initiatives in capital improvements, public safety, and thoughtful zoning have facilitated significant growth and development, transforming City Avenue from a corridor of office buildings into a vibrant and diverse community; and

WHEREAS, the District's commitment to community engagement has fostered a collaborative spirit, attracting a powerful cross-section of residents, including young professionals, families, and students, further enriching the District's dynamic character; and

WHEREAS, The City Avenue District has emerged as a model for successful urban revitalization, attracting investment and propelling the area into a thriving commercial and professional hub; and

WHEREAS, The Council of the City of Philadelphia celebrates the City Avenue Special Service District’s 25 years of exceptional service and transformative impact. We commend the District’s leadership, staff and partners from their dedication to creating a safe, vibrant, and prosperous environment for all who live, work or visit the City Avenue Special Services District; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That it hereby honors

and recognizes the City Avenue Special Services District on the occasion of their 25th Anniversary.

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this Resolution be presented to the City Avenue Special Services District as a sign of the admiration and respect of this legislative body.
