Honoring and recognizing Reverend Dr. Alyn E. Waller on his 30th Pastoral Anniversary and loyal and dedicated service to God, his church, humanity and the community.

Whereas, Reverend Dr. Alyn E. Waller accepted the call to Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church on July 3, 1994, and was installed as Senior Pastor on September 11, 1994, initiating a transformative era of growth and service; and

Whereas, Under his dynamic leadership, Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church expanded its worship services, established key community programs through the Enon - Coulter Community Development Corporation, and developed a new 34-acre facility to accommodate a growing congregation; and

Whereas, Through the relationship of his wife, Dr. Ellyn Jo Waller, Reverend Dr. Waller’s vision led to the establishment of various ministries and partnerships, including Enon Tabernacle Western Cape Church in South Africa, and the enhancement of outreach programs such as health fairs, educational initiatives, and humanitarian efforts; and

Whereas, He committed 10% of the church’s yearly revenue to support diverse community needs, including homelessness, education, and health, and led the church in hosting one of the country’s largest HIV/AIDS testing events; and

Whereas, Reverend Dr. Waller continues to lead with dedication, expanding the church’s reach through innovative programs like the Hour of Power Bible Study and maintaining a commitment to solidifying families and advocating for human rights locally and globally; and

Whereas, This year - 2024 - marks Dr. Waller’s 30th year at Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That it hereby Honors and Recognizes Reverend Dr. Alyn E. Waller on his 30th Pastoral Anniversary and loyal and dedicated service to God, his church, humanity and the community.

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this Resolution be presented to Reverend Dr. Alyn E. Waller as a token of the sincere admiration of this legislative body.
