Honoring and recognizing Ciarra Lambert for inspiring women artists across Philadelphia through her activism and music.

WHEREAS, Ciarra Lambert is a multi-faceted recording artist and passionate advocate from Philadelphia who has dedicated her life to fighting for women’s rights through her artistry; and

WHEREAS, Lambert’s activism extends beyond her artistic endeavors, as she works diligently to ensure the safety and well-being of women and LGBTQ+ individuals, particularly within nightlife spaces, securing funding and creating initiatives that allow for both personal safety and artistic expression; and

WHEREAS, In 2023, Lambert was honored as one of the Leeway Foundation's Transformation Awardees, receiving the prestigious Leeway Transformation Award (LTA), which provides discretionary funding to artists and cultural producers who create art for social change and have demonstrated a long-term commitment to this work; and

WHEREAS, In 2024, as a member of the Arts and Culture Task Force convened by Council, Lambert played a crucial role in the creation of the Illuminate the Arts Grant Program which in its third year has provided essential funding to over 730 individual artists, small and mid-size nonprofit arts organizations, and creative enterprises in Philadelphia, awarding $1.5 million in grants just in 2024 alone; and

WHEREAS, Through her work in the arts and culture community, Lambert has consistently demonstrated her commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for artists of all backgrounds, ensuring that their voices are heard and respected; and

WHEREAS, Lambert’s leadership, vision, and unwavering dedication to creating inclusive, safe, and empowering spaces have made a lasting impact on the City of Philadelphia, enriching the lives of individuals within the arts community and beyond; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, THAT THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, Hereby honors and recognizes Ciarra Lambert for inspiring women across Philadelphia through her activism and music.

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to Ciarra Lambert, further evidencing the admiration and respect of this legislative body.
