WHEREAS, Parent University 2.0, organized by the Office of Councilmember Jones, took place on February 24th, 2024, at the School of the Future in West Philadelphia; and
WHEREAS, Parent University 2.0 is an important initiative aimed at empowering parents and guardians with the knowledge and resources necessary to support the academic success and well-being of their children; and
WHEREAS, Following the event, the initiative was transitioned into a digital format with the creation of a dedicated website to continue providing valuable educational resources and support to parents, guardians, and educators; and
WHEREAS, The website for Parent University 2.0 serves as a critical platform to provide access to various educational tools, workshops, and resources for parents in the Philadelphia community; and
WHEREAS, It is essential to ensure that the website is user-friendly, informative, and accessible to all parents, regardless of their background or technological proficiency; and
WHEREAS, Periodic reviews of public-facing resources such as the Parent University 2.0 website are crucial for continuous improvement and to ensure that it meets the evolving needs of parents and the community; and
WHEREAS, Feedback from parents, guardians, and educational stakeholders can provide valuable insight into the effectiveness of the website and areas for improvement; and
WHEREAS, The review shall assess the website's accessibility, content relevance, user experience, and overall effectiveness in meeting the needs of parents and guardians in supporting their children’s education, social, and emotional well-being; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, Hereby authorizes the Joint Committees on Children and Youth and Education to review the Parent University 2.0 website.
