WHEREAS, The African American Chamber of Commerce of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware (AACC) serve as a vital advocate for Black-owned businesses in the Philadelphia region, working to provide access, resources, and opportunities that strengthen economic growth; and

WHEREAS, The AACC has long been recognized as a leading force in advancing Black entrepreneurship and ensuring that African American businesses have a voice in regional economic development; and

WHEREAS, The Chamber has consistently developed programs and initiatives that connect Black business owners with capital, contracting opportunities, mentorship, and training, empowering them to thrive in competitive markets; and

WHEREAS, The AACC has also been a convener of civic and corporate leaders, fostering partnerships that expand opportunities for Black-owned enterprises across industries; and

WHEREAS, In recent years, state and regional chapters of the U.S. Black Chambers have received recognition for excellence, including the Delaware Black Chamber of Commerce being named “Chamber of the Year” in 2023 by the National Black Business Conference, and the African American Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey earning the same distinction in 2024; and

WHEREAS, In 2025, the African American Chamber of Commerce of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware were honored with the distinguished title of “Chamber of the Year” at the U.S. Black Chambers National Conference, marking a historic achievement for the Greater Philadelphia business community; and

WHEREAS, This honor reflects the tireless work of the Chamber’s leadership, including President & CEO Regina Hairston, whose vision has guided the organization to new heights of impact and visibility; and

WHEREAS, The award also recognizes the resilience, innovation, and determination of Black entrepreneurs across the Philadelphia region, whose success contributes to the overall economic vitality of the City of Philadelphia; and

WHEREAS, The Chamber of the Year award serves as a testament to the AACC’s unwavering commitment to equity, inclusion, and prosperity for all communities; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That this esteemed body honors and congratulates the African American Chamber of Commerce of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware for being named Chamber of the Year at the 2025 U.S. Black Chambers National Conference.

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to Regina Hairston as evidence of the true and sincere admiration and respect of this legislative body.
