WHEREAS, Founded in 2009, TeenSHARP has been a transformative force in helping underrepresented students attend and thrive at top colleges with minimal or no debt, making a decade long commitment to each student’s academic and personal success; and

WHEREAS, Through individualized guidance, mentorship, and academic enrichment, TeenSHARP equips students with the tools to develop strong study habits, succeed in rigorous coursework, and confidently navigate their high school experience with higher ambition and a clear plan for success; and

WHEREAS, TeenSHARP’s innovative programming-including college readiness training, leadership development, and college advising.TeenSHARP has opened doors for hundreds of students to enroll in advanced courses such as Honors, IB, and AP, gain admission to premier pre-college programs, and ultimately secure acceptance into the nation’s top universities; and

WHEREAS, Since 2020, TeenSHARP has successfully transitioned to a fully virtual model, expanding its reach to students across more than 20 states and building a diverse national network of high-achieving, socially conscious young leaders; and

WHEREAS, TeenSHARP’s graduates continue to demonstrate excellence and impact as scholars, innovators, and community changemakers, earning admission to institutions such as the University of Pennsylvania, Vanderbilt University, Bates College, Emory University, and Carleton College while embodying the organization’s mission of leadership and service; and

WHEREAS, The success of TeenSHARP underscores the vital importance of investing in organizations that empower young people of color to achieve their fullest potential creating pathways to higher education, wealth building, and civic leadership that strengthen our communities and inspire future generations; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, THAT THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, Hereby honors and recognizes TeenSHARP for its exceptional dedication to educational equity and for building a diverse pipeline of leaders, one top college admission at a time

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this Resolution be presented to TeenSHARP in appreciation of its continued leadership, vision, and service to Philadelphia’s students and families.
