WHEREAS, Philadelphia native, Nicole Cashman, began her career at Drexel University where she earned a B.S. in Design and Merchandising with a minor in Marketing while completing a co-op internship at the flagship Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City; and

WHEREAS, She blossomed in her role as Public Relations Director for Bloomingdale’s, coordinating communications and events for the New York and Boston regions, and was recruited as Director of Public Relations, Special Events, and Community Engagement for 28 Strawbridge’s stores in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Cashman founded her own Philadelphia-based firm, Cashman & Associates, in 2001. What started as a one-person start-up has evolved over the past 25 years into a highly respected woman-owned firm with national recognition, serving clients across different sectors including hospitality, retail, tourism, and nonprofits; and

WHEREAS,

Nicole Cashman’s entrepreneurial success has earned her widespread recognition and honors, including the Philadelphia Business Journal’s Women of Distinction Award, the Public Relations Society of America’s DeAnn White Award for Individual Achievement, the Drexel University Rankin-Epstein Distinguished Alumni Award, the CCPA REAL Small Business Award, and recognition as a woman-owned business leader by PHL Diversity and other regional organizations; and

WHEREAS, Beyond her professional success, Ms. Cashman has demonstrated a deeply personal devotion to the City of Philadelphia through sustained civic engagement, including service on nonprofit boards and advisory committees; the provision of pro bono and reduced-fee public relations and marketing support to arts, cultural, health, and community organizations; active participation in Citywide cultural and civic initiatives; and a longstanding commitment to mentoring emerging professionals and supporting Philadelphia-based institutions

; and

WHEREAS, Her commitment to Philadelphia extends beyond business, reflecting a genuine belief in giving back to the City that shaped her career, mentoring future leaders, championing local causes, and contributing her expertise to initiatives that strengthen neighborhoods and improve the quality of life for Philadelphians;

now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, Honors and congratulations, Nicole Cashman, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Cashman & Associates, on the firm’s 25th anniversary, and recognizes her remarkable contributions to the business community and cultural vitality of the City of Philadelphia.

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this Resolution be presented to Nicole Cashman in appreciation of her leadership and service to the City of Philadelphia.
