WHEREAS, Pastor Rob and New Journey Christian Center faithfully serve the Germantown section of Philadelphia, embracing all individuals as they are, fostering spiritual growth, and cultivating an environment where all feel welcome; and

WHEREAS, Throughout history, faith leaders within the City of Philadelphia have served not only as spiritual shepherds, but also as community advocates, mentors, educators, and agents of healing and restoration; and

WHEREAS, Pastor Rob, through his dedicated leadership at New Journey Christian Center, rooted in the teachings and foundation of Church of God in Christ, Inc., stands firmly on that belief and exemplifies a steadfast commitment to spreading the love and message of Jesus Christ; and

WHEREAS, Black History Month is a time to recognize, celebrate, and honor the invaluable contributions of African American leaders whose faith, courage, and commitment have shaped communities, strengthened families, and advanced the cause of justice, unity, and spiritual growth; and

WHEREAS, New Journey Christian Center is committed to impacting the world with the love and message of Jesus Christ, reaching those who are far from God, and teaching individuals how to follow the path of God step by step; and

WHEREAS, The New Journey Christian Center extends an open invitation to residents of Germantown, the City of Philadelphia, surrounding communities, and visitors from near and far, encouraging all to experience fellowship, restoration, and the transformative power of faith; and

WHEREAS, Through his preaching Pastor Rob encourages believers to live with expectation, hope, and spiritual readiness, and consistently extends the message of redemption as a pathway to restoration for individuals and families across the community; and

WHEREAS, Pastor Rob teaches the necessity of spiritual transformation as the true catalyst for lasting change in both hearts and neighborhoods, and empowers his community to embrace faith-filled prayer for spiritual, emotional, and physical healing and growth; and

WHEREAS, Through dedication to community service, outreach, and spiritual leadership, Pastor Rob continues to help bring healing, restoration, unity, and hope to a City rich in history, culture, and resilience; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, Hereby honors and celebrates Pastor Rob Harrison of New Journey Christian Center for his outstanding leadership, faithful service, and unwavering commitment to uplifting the Germantown community in recognition of Black History Month and beyond.
