Amending Section 12-701 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Designation of Bicycle Lanes," to authorize bicycle lanes and the removal of travel lanes on portions of Ridge Avenue, under certain terms and conditions.

THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS:

SECTION 1. Section 12-701 of The Philadelphia Code is hereby amended to read as follows:

TITLE 12. TRAFFIC CODE

CHAPTER 12-700. BICYCLE LANES

§ 12-701. Designation of Bicycle Lanes.

(2) The Department is authorized to construct a bicycle lane upon the following streets and regulate the operation and use of vehicles and bicycles upon such streets in a manner consistent with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) regulations:

(*) Ridge Avenue northbound, from Grakyn Lane to Bells Mill Road, and the removal of a travel lane within the same limits.

(*) Ridge Avenue southbound, from Grakyn Lane to Cathedral Road, and the removal of a travel lane within the same limits.

SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately.
