THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS:

Section 1. Title 14 of The Philadelphia Code is hereby amended to read as follows:

TITLE 14. ZONING AND PLANNING

Chapter 14-1100. MURAL PRESERVATION

§ 14-1101. Permit Notice.

(1)

In any application for a building permit, including a permit for partial demolition, or

a zoning permit for the following: additions, complete demolition, new construction, or signs, the applicant shall certify to the Department of Licenses and Inspection (“L&I”) whether the property contains a mural covered by an agreement with Mural Arts Philadelphia. If so, the applicant shall also certify whether they have complied with the agreement’s notice requirement.

(2)

L&I is authorized to notify Mural Arts Philadelphia when it receives an application

for a permit concerning a property covered by such agreements. Mural Arts Philadelphia is authorized to provide L&I with a list of properties covered by such agreements, to be updated annually or more regularly as Mural Arts Philadelphia finds feasible.

Section 2. This Ordinance shall become effective in 30 days.
