WHEREAS, Team Final, a Philadelphia-based grassroots basketball organization and our City’s sole representative in the Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) and the Amateur Athletic Union, celebrated an extraordinary spring/summer 2026 season by winning both the 14U and 16U EYBL Peach Jam Championships, proudly representing Philadelphia on the national stage; and
WHEREAS, The 14U team finished the season with an impressive 17-1 record, while the 16U team went undefeated in 29 games, giving Team Final a remarkable, combined record of 46-1 and earning recognition as one of the nation’s premier youth basketball programs; and
WHEREAS, All nine players on the 16U team compete for Philadelphia high school basketball programs across several leagues, with three players ranked among the Top 60 nationally in the Class of 2028, highlighting the extraordinary talent and potential being developed within Philadelphia’s youth basketball community; and
WHEREAS, Team Final’s championship victories are a testament to the hard work, perseverance, and commitment of its players, coaches, families, and supporters, etching their names in Philadelphia’s rich history of basketball greatness while inspiring future generations of young athletes to pursue their goals with the same discipline, teamwork, and excellence;
now, therefore; be it
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, Honors and congratulates, recognizes Team Final on its outstanding 2026 season and national championship victories, offering the sincere respect, admiration, and gratitude of this legislative body.
FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to Team Final as evidence of the sincere admiration and respect of this legislative body.
