This enacted measure requires Philadelphia businesses that use video surveillance systems for security or theft prevention to keep recordings for 30 days after their initial use, or for a longer period set by the Police Department. It also allows the department to set recording-quality requirements; violations carry a minimum fine of $25, with each day treated as a separate offense.

Amending Title10 of the Philadelphia Code, entitled "Regulation of Individual Conduct and Activity" requiring the retention of video surveillance tapes in commercial businesses for thirty days after use of those tapes and regulating the quality of tapes.
