The enacted ordinance adds a definition of dog fighting to the Philadelphia Code and prohibits people from intentionally, knowingly, recklessly, or negligently allowing a dog to engage in it on public or private property. It also prohibits owners from allowing their property to be used for dog fighting, sets a $300 fine per violation, and allows police or animal control officers to temporarily seize and examine a dog determined to have participated.
Amending Chapters 10-100 and 10-600 of The Philadelphia Code relating to Animals, Individual Conduct and the use of public and private property by adding to Sections 10-101, 105, 603 and 10-606 the prohibition of Dog Fighting.
