This enacted bill amended Philadelphia’s School Tax Authorization provisions. It authorized the School District of Philadelphia’s Board of Education to impose a real estate tax for school district purposes for 2002 and later years, at a rate of $2.844 per $100 of taxable assessed property value based on the 2001 assessment.

Amending Chapter 19-1800 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "School Tax Authorization," by amending Section 19-1801 to further authorize the Board of Education of the School District of Philadelphia to impose a tax on real estate within the City of Philadelphia.
