The enacted measure changes Philadelphia’s R-2 residential zoning rules to allow family day care providers to care for up to six children, as long as they meet applicable city and state licensing or registration requirements. In the Sixth and Tenth Councilmanic Districts, the limit remains four children; the care must generally take place in an enclosed residence for less than 24 consecutive hours.

Amending Section 14-203 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "R-2" Residential District, to expand the number of children allowable in a family day care operation, under certain terms and conditions.
