The enacted ordinance expands the deadline for applying for a real estate tax exemption for new residential construction. Applicants generally must apply within 60 days after a building permit is issued, but certain properties with certificates of occupancy issued after March 1, 2000 and before June 30, 2002 may apply within 365 days of receiving the certificate.
Amending Section 19-1303(4) of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Authorization to offer Exemption from Real Estate Taxes on New Construction of Residential Properties," by expanding the time to make an application for an exemption, under certain terms and conditions.
