This enacted ordinance creates special zoning controls for properties along specified sections of Fairmount Avenue between Corinthian Avenue, Twenty-first Street, and Pennsylvania Avenue. It prohibits or limits certain uses, including nightclubs and theaters, automobile businesses, large drug stores and food markets, take-out restaurants, liquor sales, and some medical facilities; it also generally limits new buildings to 55 feet and four stories and prohibits setbacks from Fairmount Avenue unless required by the underlying zoning.
Amending Title 14 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Zoning and Planning," by amending Chapter 14-1600 entitled "Miscellaneous," by adding a new Section 14-1625, entitled "Fairmount Avenue Special District Controls," under certain terms and conditions.
