The adopted resolution urges the Federal Communications Commission to preserve rules that limit companies from owning multiple types of media outlets in the same market and limit the number of stations one owner can hold. It also urges Congress to hold public hearings on media ownership and pass legislation to prevent further media consolidation, and directs that the resolution be sent to Philadelphia’s congressional delegation.

Supporting diversity in media ownership by urging the Federal Communications Commission to protect and preserve its ban on cross-ownership of print and electronic media, and by urging the Congress to exercise its oversight in the area of federal communications policy by holding public hearings on media ownership issues, and by enacting legislation to prohibit further media consolidation.
