The enacted ordinance provides continued City contributions for health and welfare benefits for city employees who retire under a City pension plan after at least 10 years of credited service. Benefits continue for up to five years after retirement, and a qualifying retiree’s spouse and dependent children may continue receiving benefits for the rest of that five-year period if the retiree dies; the measure applies retroactively to employees who retired on or after July 1, 2002.

Amending Title 20 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Officers and Employees," by providing for certain health and welfare benefits for pensioned employees, all under certain terms and conditions.
