VETO OVERRIDDEN
The enacted ordinance increased the annual salaries of Philadelphia’s elected officials, including members of City Council, the mayor, city controller, sheriff, clerk of quarter sessions, register of wills, and city commissioners, with different effective dates for the City Controller. It also changed annual salary adjustments to use the Consumer Price Index multiplier and provided that salaries would not decrease when that multiplier is below one.
Amending Chapter 20-300 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Compensation," by increasing the salaries of elected City officials and amending the provisions for annual cost of living salary adjustments, all under certain terms and conditions.
