VETO OVERRIDDEN
This vetoed bill would have changed how Philadelphia handles sidewalk and curb grading, paving, repaving, and repairs. It would have allowed the Department of Streets to arrange the work after notifying affected property owners, and would have revised how owners are assessed, including a cap of 30% of the total work cost and possible liens for unpaid bills.
Amending Section 11-505 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Sidewalk Paving and Other Improvements by Property Owners," by revising the process governing the grading, paving, repaving, or repair of sidewalks and the setting or resetting of curbs, and by revising the assessment of property owners for the costs of such work; all under certain terms and conditions.
