This enacted ordinance amends Philadelphia’s Public Employees Retirement Code to change limits on annual retirement benefits, including raising the stated general limit from $90,000 to $160,000 or the maximum allowed under federal tax law. It also updates how limits are adjusted for benefits starting before age 62 or after age 65, preserves a limitation rule for police, fire, and Sheriff’s Department employees, and raises the limit on certain service-purchase contributions from $30,000 to $40,000.

Amending Title 22 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Public Employees Retirement Code," by amending Section 22-305 relating to maximum benefit limitations imposed by the Internal Revenue Code.
