The enacted measure changes Philadelphia rules for keeping farm animals, including chickens, geese, ducks, turkeys, goats, sheep, pigs, and cows. It generally limits where these animals may be kept, allowing exceptions such as licensed slaughterhouses, animal shelters, veterinary facilities, educational or scientific facilities, and some properties of at least three acres; the acreage exception does not apply to pigs.

Amending Title 10 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled Regulation of Individual Conduct and Activity, by generally prohibiting the keeping of certain farm animals, including certain poultry and livestock, under certain terms and conditions.
