This enacted ordinance authorizes Sunoco Inc.’s Philadelphia Refinery to install, own, and maintain a 50-foot aluminum post with a siren, related equipment, and an aerial electrical connection on a traffic island bordered by South 56th Street, Lindbergh Boulevard, and Elmwood Avenue. The siren system is intended to alert nearby residents about hazardous-material releases from the refinery or toxic-material transportation accidents, subject to required permits, approvals, agreements, insurance, and other conditions.
