RECONSIDERED

This enacted ordinance amends Philadelphia’s Health Code to require food establishments that sell non-prepackaged potentially hazardous food to ensure that people preparing the food wear protective gloves and a suitable head covering or hair restraint. The requirement is subject to listed exemptions and took effect immediately.

Amending Title 6 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Health Code," by providing that all persons engaged in the preparation of food and especially those in the fast food establishments shall wear protective gloves and wear a suitable head covering or hair restraint to protect the food from contamination.
