The enacted ordinance authorizes the Wissahickon Hills Civic Association to construct, own, and maintain a roughly four-foot-by-five-foot sign on the Acorn Street traffic island at Ridge Avenue. The sign would say “Wissahickon Hills 1943” and include an inscription honoring Police Officer Joseph Friel; the association must follow city requirements, obtain approvals, maintain required insurance or equivalent protections, and remove the sign if the City gives 180 days’ notice for a municipal construction project.
