The enacted ordinance changes Philadelphia’s penalties for gambling violations in public places. Gambling in a city-owned or city-controlled playground is treated as a Class III offense, with fines set under another section of the City Code and possible imprisonment of up to 90 days; it also updates penalties for repeat violations and the seizure and forfeiture of gambling proceeds.

Amending Chapter 10-600 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Public Places - Prohibited Conduct," by amending Section 10-612, entitled "Gambling," by amending the penalty provisions for certain violations and making certain technical changes, all under certain terms and conditions.
