ORDER THE BILL PLACED ON NEXT WEEK'S SUSPENSION CALENDAR

This lapsed bill would have prohibited people charged with certain violent-crime offenses from acquiring, possessing, or controlling firearms while those charges were pending. It also would have required them to turn over firearms to the Police Department, which would return them after acquittal or non-prosecution and allow transfer or disposal after a conviction.

Amending Chapter 10-800 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Safety," by adding a new Section to prohibit the possession or acquisition of firearms by persons charged with certain criminal offenses, during the pendency of such charges, under certain terms and conditions.
