ORDER THE BILL PLACED ON NEXT WEEK'S SUSPENSION CALENDAR

This lapsed bill would have required people applying for or renewing a Philadelphia license to carry a concealed firearm to report personal information and details about firearms at properties they own, lease, or control. The information would have had to be updated annually and after a firearm was transferred, lost, or destroyed; certain police and sheriff’s employees and people covered by state-law exceptions would have been exempt, and violations could have resulted in a fine of up to $300.

Amending Chapter 10-800 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Safety," by adding a new Section, entitled "Reporting Requirements Upon the Application for or Renewal of a License to Carry a Firearm," to provide for certain reporting requirements for the issuance or renewal of licenses to carry firearms within the City of Philadelphia; all under certain terms and conditions.
