This enacted measure amends Philadelphia’s Health Code to prohibit applying lead-based coatings to jewelry and certain other items, except where federal law allows it. It also prohibits selling, transferring, or delivering lead-containing or lead-coated jewelry and other listed products, and prohibits keeping lead-containing items or coatings accessible to children under six in certain homes and facilities when they pose a health hazard.

Amending Section 6-403 of Title 6 ("Health Code") of The Philadelphia Code, to establish prohibitions on items containing lead and to add jewelry to the list of items that may not receive or maintain a lead-based coating, all under certain terms and conditions.
