The enacted measure amended Philadelphia’s towing rules to let people sue a towing company that charges more than the city’s allowed maximum fees in certain situations. A person who wins such a case may recover actual damages, $2,000 in additional damages, attorney’s fees, court costs, and other court-ordered relief.

Amending Section 9-605 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Towing," to provide a private right of action for persons aggrieved by certain violations of that Section, including, but not limited to, the provisions establishing maximum charges for towing services, all under certain terms and conditions.
